Usage |
Amino silanes produced by KH-550 silane coupling agent are widely used in the following ranges.
(1) Reinforcement of glass fiber
Used in glass fiber reinforced thermosets and thermoplastics, aminosilane KH-550 can greatly improve flexural strength, tensile strength and interlaminar shear strength in wet and dry states, and significantly improve wet electrical properties. The flexural and tensile strengths of glass fiber reinforced thermoplastics, polyamides, polyesters and polycarbonates both before and after immersion in water increased when the silane was used in wet and dry conditions.
(2) Coatings, adhesives and sealants
This aminosilane is an excellent adhesion promoter used in acrylic paints, adhesives and sealants. For sulfide, polyurethane, RTV, epoxy, nitrile, phenolic resins, adhesives and sealants, aminosilanes improve pigment dispersion and improve adhesion to glass, aluminum and steel.
